"Countdown to the YMCA at Leggs
Hill"

Front of the Building. June 2008.
We have raised $12.1 million toward the
$14 million fundraising goal--we still need to raise $1.9 million
before the grand opening this fall!
We successfully raised the $2.2 million in 18
months to meet The Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant and
were awarded $750,000. Most importantly, we construction
is near completion. The countdown is on!
This YMCA is supported by
concrete and steel, but most importantly--you! We hope you will consider giving a gift that will have a
lasting impact on future generations of this community.

Your community and its future generations
need your help today!
“The need is
undeniable…” – Bill Adams
“My wife and I see this as
the most exciting, privately funded undertaking in the history of
Marblehead and Swampscott.” – Eyk Van Otterloo

Adams, and Eyk and Rose-Marie Van Otterloo (left to right)
The capital campaign
co-chairs and committee members are excited about the many
additional benefits the new YMCA at Leggs Hill will bring to the
community. The new YMCA at Leggs Hill will continue to be a community center it has always been
for Marblehead and Swampscott, but will now be able to
service the community of South Salem.
We are now entering the final phase of the capital
campaign. Since the
beginning of the campaign in 2001, the size and scope of the project
has increased. This state-of-the-art facility will be a full-service
YMCA located on Leggs Hill Road in Marblehead, MA which borders
Salem and Swampscott.
