Campaign Update
The campaign has
raised $12.2 million in pledges with 1,000 donors. We successfully
raised the $2.2 million in 18 months to meet The Kresge Foundation
Challenge Grant and were awarded $750,000! The response of the
community enabled the YMCA to push the fundraising goal from $10 to $14
million because of increased costs and in part as a result of the
collaboration with the Boston Ballet.
In 2008, there were also
several successful fundraising events such as the annual golf tournament which raised $34,000 toward the campaign.
There also were "Top of the Hill" parties at the construction site.
We still have an additional $1.8
million to raise by the opening of the new building in fall
2008.
